Hello my lovelies, I hope you’re all well!
One of my favourite events in my calendar is the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket Racecourse. The Guineas is one of the biggest horse races at Newmarket, which means dressing up in all your finest outfits!
I’ve been going to the Guineas/other horse racing events all my life, so I thought I’d write a piece about what outfits might be right for the occasion.
Every year I try to go for a different style dress, since losing weight this year I’m going for a knee length tight dress which looks classy and chic but also a little bit sexy. This year I think that big, bold flowery patterns and lace will be in, so if your’e looking for a dress you can’t go wrong with those two designs.
- Don’t wear anything too short and flowy incase its windy
- Do wear something you’re completely comfortable in as if you don’t feel amazing you won’t enjoy your day!
Although I love some good accessories I tend to keep it quite simple for race meets. Sunglasses if its sunny, a nice big clutch, and some sparkly jewellery. I know that hats and fascinators don’t suit me so I never choose to wear one, but if I did it would be simple and a matching colour to my dress if possible.
Shoes are one of my favourite parts of an outfit, but for a day out racing choosing the right pair is vital! You’re going to be on your feet most of the day so comfort is the most important aspect when choosing a pair of shoes. I always go for a pair of Misguided court shoes, which I know fit me really well and are really comfortable. I always try to match the shoe colour with the dress, clutch and fascinator to make sure everything matches.
